My name is Marco Poetry Chen. I'm an Chinese-American high school student. I speak Chinese pretty fluently, and my parents are Chinese immigrants. I live in a suburban village called Irvington. It is located in the county of Westchester in New York. I used to live in a more urban city called Yonkers, also in Westchester, before moving to Irvington. I now attend Irvington High School. I attend some AP classes as well as normal classes. I'm pretty hard working when I need to be. I don't play any sports at school, because my asthma acts up whenever I do anything too athletic. I like a lot of kind of music, and I have almost 4,000 songs in my iTunes and iPod. I have a playlist with only around 100 songs that I can listen to for many, many times. I like to play my Xbox 360 when I can. In the summer of 2008, I had a surgery to remove a tumor in my nasal cavity. It was a coming of age experience for me. I am left with a hole in the roof of my mouth that is connected to my sinuses. I have had two more surgeries to try to repair the hole. Those surgeries have been both pretty unsuccessful. I think I have a good perspective on life. I have had a humbling experience growing up in the city of Yonkers, but now I live in the suburbs of Irvington. Now, I feel that I am pretty suburbanized, and I don't think I can return to the more urban lifestyle in Yonkers. I might be forgetting some important stuff about my life, but that is it for now. I don't want to get detailed in this section. I want to make more detailed posts in the actual blog about different aspects of my life.
